Art. 224. The witnesses will inform the judge, within one year, of any change of residence, subjecting themselves, by simple omission, to the penalties of non-appearance.
Obligation of witness to communicate new address
Fine and offense of disobedience: Under the terms of article 219 , the failing witness is subject to the payment of a fine and to answer for the offense of disobedience. There is an understanding that the crime of disobedience is not characterized if the witness is not expressly warned that changing residence without communication constitutes a crime. There is also an understanding that, in this case, there is no crime of disobedience, since there is a lack of a direct order being disobeyed.
