Art. 223. When the witness does not know the national language, an interpreter will be appointed to translate the questions and answers.
Single paragraph. In the case of a mute, deaf or deaf-mute, the procedure shall be in accordance with article 192.
Witness who does not speak the national language
Equalization of interpreter and expert: According to article 281 , the interpreter is equivalent to the expert, having the same obligations, and being subject to the same impediments and rules of suspicion. See notes to Article 281 .
